CCTV Cabling
The cabling for our security networks is carried out with the use of an enhanced grade CAT6 cable for connecting the cameras to the central switches. This grade of cable is also water and rodent resistant due to its UV and polyethylene outer sheath.
Armoured Fibre cabling is used over longer distances due to its water, load and lightning resistant jacket. It also enhances the quality of the signal guaranteeing clear pictures and viewing. They are rodent and water proof and can be buried directly without trunking.
Server Architecture
We use either HP or DELL Servers and IP based NVR’s to guaranty the performance and reliability of the equipment, as well as the long-term warranty. These servers are used for storing video data.
POE Switches
Foxfire provide POE switches for interconnectivity. The switches are normally Cisco switches and they are able to function at maximum speeds of 1GB/s. Video transmission travels through these switches

CCTV Storage
The video footage collected by CCTV cameras is in JPEG,MPEG4 or H364 format.
These files are reasonably large in size therefore a method of archiving is required to remove the older files from each CCTV Server before it fills up.
We use NAS’s (Network Area Storage) and SAN’s (Storage Area Networks) to archive this video data.
The accessories below are other essential items that we try to guarantee are of the highest quality for an optimum performance.
They include Ethernet and fiber patch panels and leads, POE extenders and mid-spans (For providing POE functionality to the cameras where switches can’t) and Ethernet faceplates. Our suppliers include Excel, Systemax and Brand-Rex
